Foster Home Feedback
6/30/18: More about Patience.....She is house trained. She totally ignores my cat. She could, but doesn't graze from the counter. She doesn't get into the garbage even tho it doesn't have a lid. I'm sure if there were scraps or meat bones in there, it would be a different story. She hasn't barked once. She does whine when my husband goes outside without her, but only to let me know that he did!
She snores, worse than my husband! When we come in from outside or if she gets in my way I tell her to go lay down...and she does. Patience doesn't eat on a schedule, I leave her kibble out all the time and she takes a few bites as she passes by. She does like canned food or table scraps, hamburger, chicken, pork roast, baked potatoes (no fixins'). Tonight I cut her hamburger into several pieces and made her work for them. Sit, down, come, stay. She does really well; she's very smart. Patience loves to ride in the car but also likes to try to climb out the window when the car stops. Keep the window up high enough she won't fit out or use a short seat belt leash to keep her in.
She is a love; very, very sweet. She doesn't mind the neighbor kids coming over. They are age 6 and under. They haven't done anything except pet her, but she's ok with that. Their stroller, wagon, and bikes don't bother her. She is very mellow and sleeps a lot. I have never crated her...no need to. I have been gone up to 6 hours and when I return I never find a mess of any kind. She is so well behaved! Patience sleeps all night and all morning; usually until I get the wet food out.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HER!!  If you can handle mellow and sweet, she's the dog for you!
6/29/18: I gave this love the name Patience because she IS so patient with me (an amputee). She waits patiently for food, for me to get to the door, she walks my speed outside and although she would probably benefit from longer walks, she is just fine with the short ones we take.
Patience has taken little interest in the variety of toys I have. We have thrown a ball inside and there is interest only in seeing where it went. Stuffed and squeaky toys, the same. My house is a "dog" house; all my furniture is covered and the dogs are allowed on all of it. Patience likes one chair to curl up in and the sofa to stretch out on, but she can also be found on the floor. I have taught her to sit and she will sit automatically when we're by the door and she sees her collar and leash. She is a good girl!
